About This Access Site
The East access point on Metonga Lake provides boaters and paddlers with a public boat ramp in the Crandon area of Forest County, Wisconsin. Metonga Lake is a substantial 2,038-acre lake with excellent water clarity and a maximum depth of 79 feet, making it suitable for various water activities. The lake supports a healthy fishery including Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Northern Pike, and Walleye.

When planning your visit, be aware that Metonga Lake has documented aquatic invasive species, including Eurasian Water-Milfoil, Rusty Crayfish, and Zebra Mussels. All watercraft should be inspected and cleaned before launching to prevent further spread. The lake is large enough to accommodate multiple access points—public boat landings are available at both the north and south ends of the lake. The East ramp is conveniently located near Crandon and offers good access for kayakers, canoeists, and motorized boaters looking to explore this scenic north-central Wisconsin lake.
