The North boat ramp provides access to Metonga Lake, a large 2,000+ acre lake located near Crandon in Forest County. This public boat landing is one of two primary access points on the lake (with another on the south end) and offers a convenient launch for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. The lake features very clear water quality, making it excellent for paddling and wildlife observation.
Metonga Lake offers diverse fishing opportunities and scenic paddling with a maximum depth of 79 feet. The lake's substantial size provides plenty of room for exploration, though paddlers should be prepared for potential motorboat traffic. The site also features public picnic areas and beaches nearby, making it suitable for day trips or longer outings. This north access point is ideal for paddlers looking to explore the northern sections of the lake or seeking a well-maintained public launch facility.
