Miami State Fishing Lake

Located in Fontana, Miami County, this 281-acre fishing lake offers a well-developed boat ramp facility ideal for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. The site features a concrete double boat ramp, courtesy dock, and fourteen earthen fishing piers. Additional amenities include picnic tables, fire rings, and vault toilets. Primitive camping is permitted on the earthen piers for those planning an extended visit.

The lake is stocked with channel catfish, crappie, saugeye, largemouth bass, and white bass, making it popular with anglers. The 220 surrounding acres provide ample space for recreation and wildlife viewing. Paddlers should note that boating is permitted on the lake. Be sure to pack out all trash when leaving the site. The nearby Marais des Cygnes National Wildlife Refuge offers additional paddling and wildlife viewing opportunities in the region.
