About This Access Site
The Middle Concho River boat ramp in San Angelo provides convenient access to Lake Nasworthy and the South Concho River system in the Edwards Plateau region. This launch point is well-maintained with clean restrooms and developed facilities, making it suitable for kayakers, canoeists, and recreational boaters. The site serves as a good starting point for exploring the lower Concho River system, which features scenic terrain typical of the Texas Hill Country.

Paddlers should note that the North Fork of the Concho River (which merges with the South Concho at nearby Bell Street Park) is best paddled when San Angelo Dam is releasing water. The Middle Concho area also provides access to Lake Nasworthy, a more stable paddling option compared to river sections dependent on dam releases. Several other recreation areas are nearby, including Twin Buttes Reservoir (about 6 miles south) and O.C. Fisher Lake, offering alternative paddling destinations if water conditions on the main river are unfavorable.
