**Location & Lake Overview**
Middle McKenzie Lake is a 527-acre lake located near Spooner in Burnett County, Wisconsin. The lake has moderately clear water and a maximum depth of 45 feet, making it suitable for various paddling and boating activities. The public boat landing provides convenient access for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats.
**Launch Conditions & Facilities**
The access features a paved boat ramp in good condition, though it is somewhat steep. Be prepared for shallow water near shore—the concrete launch pad transitions to soft sand at the water's edge, so plan to wade in shoes off or wear water shoes. There is no dock at this location, and parking is available along the gravel road leading to the ramp. A decontamination station is present to help prevent the spread of zebra mussels and invasive aquatic plants.
**Fishing & Recreation**
The lake supports a healthy fishery with Musky, Walleye, Northern Pike, Largemouth Bass, and Panfish, making it popular with anglers. The 527-acre size provides ample room for paddling and exploration while remaining manageable for day trips.
