About This Access Site
Midway Park offers convenient access to Lake Waco via a well-maintained two-lane boat ramp on the east shore of the South Bosque River. Located just off Highway 6 north of Waco (take the Midway Park exit immediately before crossing the lake and circle back under the bridge), this facility is ideal for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters launching onto the expansive lake. The ramp includes a dock to assist with loading and unloading gear, and launching costs $5 per day.

Beyond the boat ramp, Midway Park is a full-service recreation area with amenities that make it convenient for extended visits. The campground features 43 RV sites with hookups, 5 tent sites, hot showers, and picnic areas. The lake shoreline is known for submerged timber that attracts fish year-round, making it popular with anglers targeting catfish, bass, and crappie. Since Lake Waco is the largest lake entirely within a single U.S. city's boundaries, paddlers will find plenty of protected water to explore while staying close to Waco's urban amenities.
