About This Access Site
Milakokia Lake Campground offers a rustic boat launch on the northeast shore of Milakokia Lake in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, located about 20 miles west of Naubinway via US-2 West. The launch is suitable for kayaks, canoes, and small watercraft, making it an accessible entry point for paddlers. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with self-registration, and features 35 campsites available for tent camping and RV use.

This is an ideal base for exploring Milakokia Lake and enjoying the Upper Peninsula's natural setting. In addition to paddling opportunities, the site provides fishing access and swimming during warmer months. The campground offers basic rustic amenities typical of Michigan state forest facilities. Nearby paddlers may also want to explore recreational opportunities in the region, including the adjacent Seney National Wildlife Refuge, a designated refuge for migratory birds and wildlife.
