About This Access Site
Mill Creek Park offers a well-developed launch facility on Sam Rayburn Reservoir, a sprawling 114,000-acre impoundment in southeast Texas near Brookeland. The park features a four-lane boat ramp with two dedicated launching lanes, ample parking, and convenient onsite amenities including restrooms, fuel, and live bait. A $5 launch fee applies. The facility is open year-round and accommodates all boat types, making it suitable for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats alike.

This large, comfortable park is situated in the piney woods of the Big Thicket region within Angelina National Forest. Beyond the water access, Mill Creek offers 110 campsites with hookups, a designated swimming beach (seasonal, April-September), and other recreational facilities. The reservoir supports excellent fishing and provides scenic paddling opportunities through native forest habitat, including notable wildlife viewing for bald eagles in winter and other native species.

**Directions:** From Jasper, take US 96 North for 18 miles to Brookeland, then Loop 149 for 2 miles to Spur 165. Head west 1 mile to the park entrance. For specific hours and current information, contact the park at 409-384-5716.
