About This Access Site
Mill Dam Recreation Area provides convenient boat ramp access to Mill Dam Lake, a 210-acre lake located in the Ocala National Forest, about seven miles east of Silver Springs along SR 40 in Marion County. This easily accessible launch site is popular with kayakers, canoeists, and anglers and has been a destination for generations. A small launch fee applies (approximately $5), and the facility is managed as a reservable activity pass site.

The ramp area includes parking, vault toilets, drinking water, and picnic tables to support your visit. For extended stays, the nearby Mill Dam Group Camp and other campgrounds within 10 miles (including Big Scrub and Lake Eaton) offer overnight accommodations. Note that fishing from the bank is not permitted at the recreation area, though water-based fishing is allowed. This is an ideal access point for a day paddle or overnight trip in the scenic Ocala National Forest area.
