Milton Loop

**Location & Access:** Milton Loop Boat Ramp is located in Dayton, Armstrong County, and provides public access to Mahoning Creek Lake and Mahoning Creek. The ramp is situated at Milton Loop Campground (a non-reservable recreation area). Note that the driveway to the launch can be rough—good tires or 4WD is recommended, and tire deflation may be necessary during wet weather conditions.

**Paddling Conditions:** The ramp provides access to scenic paddling surrounded by steep valleys and forested hillsides typical of the Allegheny Plateau. However, paddlers should stay to the right (west) when exiting the launch; heading left (east) toward the lake entrance encounters numerous exposed and hidden rocks that create hazardous conditions. The water body offers clean paddling waters suitable for kayaking and canoeing, with opportunities to explore island camping spots accessible only by boat.

**Nearby Amenities:** Milton Loop Campground is adjacent to the launch, offering campsites with varying amenities (some with power and water hookups, others without) and is pet-friendly. This makes it a convenient base for multi-day paddling trips on Mahoning Creek.
