About This Access Site
The Mink Lake public boat ramp, located on the southwest side of Mink Lake near Maple Lake in Wright County, provides access to two connected lakes ideal for paddling and boating. Mink Lake covers 280 acres with a maximum depth of 39 feet, while the nearby 158-acre Somers Lake lies about three miles north and connects to Mink Lake via a navigable channel. This setup makes the access point a good launching spot for exploring both water bodies in a single outing.

Most standard recreational boats up to 12-18 feet can be launched at this ramp. There are no launch fees at this location unless it's within a park requiring a vehicle permit. Kayakers and canoeists will find this a straightforward access point for paddling either lake. Note that Mink Lake has experienced algal bloom issues due to high phosphorus levels, so water quality conditions may vary seasonally—it's worth checking current conditions before your visit.
