About This Access Site
The South Shores boat ramp in San Diego's Mission Bay provides convenient water access for kayakers, canoeists, and small boat owners. The ramp is located off the J Street exit from Interstate 5, making it easily accessible from nearby areas.

The ramp is situated within a small park setting, with a few picnic tables and restrooms available. Parking is permitted for up to 72 hours, allowing boaters to leave their vehicles while they're out on the water. However, overnight camping is not allowed.

Mission Bay is a large, sheltered estuary located just north of downtown San Diego. The calm, protected waters make it an ideal location for paddling and recreational boating.
