About This Access Site
**Location & Facilities**
Mississippi West Regional Park is located at 13900 Traprock Street in Ramsey, Anoka County, offering dedicated access to the Mississippi River. The facility features a boat launch with canoe and kayak access, a floating dock, and ample parking for trailers. The park spans approximately 132 acres along both banks of the river and is open from 5:00 am to 10:00 pm daily. Additional amenities include canoe-in campsites, biking trails, and walking/running trails.

**River Conditions**
The Mississippi River at this location is a major waterway with an average flow of approximately 685,000 cubic feet per second and average velocity of 11 feet per second. Paddlers should be prepared for a large, powerful river with a modest gradient of about 0.8 feet per mile. Given the river's scale and current, this access point is suitable for experienced paddlers and boaters comfortable navigating a significant main-channel river. The park's canoe-in campsites make it a good base for multi-day paddling trips along this major river corridor.
