About This Access Site
Mistletoe State Park in Columbia County, Georgia, offers excellent access to the expansive 72,000-acre Clarks Hill Lake, also known as J. Strom Thurmond Lake. The park features three well-maintained boat ramps, providing easy launch access for kayakers, canoeists, and powerboaters.

Clarks Hill Lake is one of the largest Army Corps of Engineers lakes east of the Mississippi River, with over 1,200 miles of scenic shoreline to explore. The lake straddles the Georgia-South Carolina border and is renowned for its world-class bass fishing. There are no motor restrictions on the lake, allowing boaters and anglers to access the vast network of coves, inlets, and creek channels.

For paddlers, the park's boat ramps offer a convenient starting point to navigate the calm, protected waters of the lake. Kayakers and canoeists can explore the serene shoreline, spot wildlife, and enjoy the natural beauty of the surrounding forests and hills. The main boat ramp also features a fish cleaning station, catering to the needs of anglers.
