The Mogadore Boathouse and Marina is the primary public access point on Mogadore Reservoir, located on State Route 43 in Mogadore. This is the largest of five boat ramps around the 800-acre reservoir, making it an excellent launching spot for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters. The facility typically operates from sunrise to sunset during the recreational season (April through Labor Day, weather permitting). Equipment rentals including kayaks, canoes, and johnboats are available on-site for those without their own boats.
Mogadore Reservoir was created in 1939 by damming the Little Cuyahoga River and sits between Brimfield and Suffield in Portage County. The reservoir offers a calm-water paddling experience ideal for recreational kayaking and canoeing. With five ramps distributed around the lake, paddlers can also access alternative launch points off Ticknor Road (southwest) and Congress Lake Road (east) if the main boathouse is crowded. For current operational details, hours, rental rates, and any access restrictions, contact the facility directly or check their website before your visit.
