About This Access Site
The Mohawksin Lake boat ramp in Tomahawk provides public access to this 1,515-acre lake in Lincoln County. The lake is formed by the confluence of three rivers—the Somo, Tomahawk, and Wisconsin—and offers multiple public boat landings around its shoreline. With a maximum depth of 25 feet and low water clarity, the lake is suitable for recreational boating, kayaking, and canoeing.

Anglers will find a healthy fishery including Musky, Northern Pike, Walleye, Smallmouth Bass, Largemouth Bass, and Panfish. If you're interested in paddling the Somo River upstream from the lake, be aware that conditions vary significantly by season and water level. The stretch between Highway 8 and the West Bay Drive Ramp spans approximately 3.5 miles, though upstream navigation may be limited by vegetation and shallow sections during low water. A public beach is also available on the lake for visitor use.
