About This Access Site
Monee Reservoir is a 46-acre fishing lake in Will County that welcomes kayakers and canoeists. While there is **no boat trailer parking or launch ramp**, the on-site Visitor Center allows you to launch personal kayaks and canoes directly from the shoreline. The facility also offers equipment rentals including kayaks, canoes, pedal boats, and rowboats if you don't have your own.

Before heading out, check wind conditions using the reservoir's flag system: Green (0-14 mph) allows all boating; Yellow (15-24 mph) restricts kayaks and canoes to shore; Red (25+ mph or storms) closes the water to paddlers. You can monitor current weather conditions via Weather Underground by searching "Monee Station." Swimming is prohibited, and personal watercraft are welcome for fishing, though boat fishing is otherwise restricted to rental boats.
