Mons Lake is a 95-acre public access lake in Todd County, Minnesota, offering a concrete boat ramp on the north shore for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters. The ramp accommodates boats up to 12-18 feet, though parking is limited. There are no launch fees unless a vehicle permit is required by the county.
The lake features a maximum depth of 80 feet with shoal areas, a marl bottom, and dense aquatic vegetation including muskgrass, bulrush, and water lilies. These conditions make it suitable for fishing (northern pike, walleye, sunfish, and bass are present) as well as recreational paddling. A wooden fishing pier is also available for anglers. Given the shallow, weedy character of the lake, paddlers should be prepared for potential vegetation and plan accordingly during warmer months when aquatic plants are more prevalent.
