About This Access Site
Monson Lake State Park offers a public boat ramp for launching kayaks, canoes, and motorboats onto this 208-acre lake in Swift County. The lake reaches a maximum depth of 21 feet and is well-suited for paddle sports and recreational boating. A portage route connects Monson Lake to West Sunburg Lake, providing paddlers with the opportunity to explore multiple water bodies. The park also features a fishing pier for those without watercraft.

**Practical Details:** State park permits are required ($7 daily, $35 annual). The small campground has only 20 sites (summer only) and can be reserved online or by calling 866-857-2757 (Apr–Sep, 8 a.m.–8 p.m.). Amenities include hiking trails and picnic areas. The lake supports walleye, northern pike, largemouth bass, and other panfish species, making it popular with anglers. Located near Sunburg in central Minnesota, this is a good option for a quiet day paddle or fishing trip.
