Moore Park Marina #1 provides convenient public boat launch access to Upper Klamath Lake, Oregon's largest freshwater body west of the Rockies. Located in Klamath Falls off Lakeshore Drive (accessible via Highway 97 and Oregon Avenue), this facility offers day-use and picnic areas scattered throughout the park, with some situated close to the water for easy access. The marina serves as an ideal launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats exploring the expansive lake, which stretches nearly 30 miles long and up to 8 miles wide.
**Important operating restrictions apply at this location:** No motorboats are permitted to exceed "slow—no wake" speed within 100 feet of the marina entrance. Additionally, motorboat speeds are limited to 10 MPH in the portion of Upper Klamath Lake and Link River east of a line projected from the Moore Park pumphouse. Paddlers should be aware that an Oregon Health Authority recreational use advisory has been issued for Upper Klamath Lake and the associated National Wildlife Refuge. The lake is renowned for its exceptional fishing, home to the largest Red Band Trout in the world, with many exceeding 30 inches. The area also offers nearby wildlife viewing opportunities in the Klamath Hills Recreation Area.
