The Moose Lake boat ramp in Orr offers convenient public access via a double concrete ramp with a center dock located on the southeast shore off Moose Lake Road. This well-maintained facility is ideal for launching smaller to medium-sized watercraft, including kayaks and canoes. The ramp serves as the primary access point for Moose Lake State Park, where you can also arrange boat, canoe, and kayak rentals through the park office.
The 9,528-acre Moose Lake (part of the scenic Moose Lake Chain) provides excellent opportunities for paddling, fishing, and recreational boating. The area is particularly popular during fall, known for stunning color reflections and early morning fog. Beyond the ramp itself, the adjacent state park offers additional amenities including a beach, fishing pier, visitor center, and 35 campsites, making it a complete destination for a multi-day paddling or fishing trip. Standard BWCAW regulations apply to this area.
