About This Access Site
The Moose Lake South boat ramp offers excellent public access for kayakers, canoeists, and small to medium-sized motorboats. Located off Moose Lake Road on the southeast shore, this site features a double concrete ramp with a center dock, making it convenient for launching and retrieving watercraft. The facility also serves as a staging area for boat, canoe, and kayak rentals—stop at the park office for rental information and checkout procedures.

Moose Lake is part of the scenic Moose Lake Chain and provides outstanding opportunities for paddling, fishing, and recreational boating. The area is particularly noted for excellent fall colors, making it an appealing destination for autumn paddling trips. The site's proximity to the Mississippi River Headwaters region near Pokegema Lake adds to the paddling opportunities in the area. This is an ideal launch point for exploring the lake's 9,528 acres by paddle or motorboat.
