About This Access Site
The Mountain View Lane ramp provides access to Lake Brownwood and Pecan Bayou near Brownwood, Texas. This single-lane concrete ramp is located off FM 3021, a few miles east of State Highway 279, near Mountain View Lodge. The ramp is steep, so exercise caution when water levels drop to five feet or lower, as launching and retrieval become more difficult at low water. Pecan Bayou is a slow-moving, peaceful waterway ideal for kayaking and canoeing. Paddlers can expect a gentle paddling experience with a large pecan orchard visible along Jim Ned Creek in the area. Note that this is a primitive access point with no water, electricity, or dump station available on-site. The facility is operated by the local water district, so check ahead regarding access hours and any fees before your visit.
