**Location & Access:** Mt. Sterling Lake is a 74-acre recreational lake located 1.5 miles north of Mt. Sterling, Illinois on Route 99. The boat ramp is at 1160 750E Street, Mt. Sterling, IL 62353. The site features a gravel launch ramp suitable for canoes, kayaks, and car-top boats, making it an excellent choice for paddlers of all skill levels.
**Facilities & Restrictions:** The lake has a 2.3-mile shoreline and a crushed limestone path circling the perimeter, ideal for exploring by paddle or foot. Maximum depth is 23 feet with an average depth of 14 feet. **Important: Only electric trolling motors are permitted on the water**—no gas-powered engines. The site includes handicap-accessible fishing piers. Note that swimming and wading are not allowed in the lake.
