Mustang Creek Boat Ramp is a free-to-use access point on Lake Texana near Ganado, operated by the Lavaca-Navidad River Authority. The facility features a 2-lane improved boat ramp suitable for launching kayaks, canoes, and motorboats. Located on TX 172 south of Ganado (approximately 6 miles northeast of Edna on U.S. 59), this ramp provides year-round access to over 11,000 acres of water surface. The site is open year-round with no launch fees, though a fee is charged to enter the adjacent recreation area.
The ramp provides access to Lake Texana, a reservoir formed by Palmetto Bend Dam, offering paddlers and boaters a substantial water body for exploration. The surrounding area features oak woodlands and bottomland habitat typical of the Lavaca-Navidad river system. This location is also recognized as stop #018 on the Texana Birding Loop, making it a good spot for multi-purpose recreation. Paddlers should note that conditions will vary seasonally, and water levels may fluctuate based on dam operations.
