Mustang Park South offers convenient access to Benbrook Lake and Mustang Creek via multiple boat ramps suitable for kayaks, canoes, and motorized vessels. Located on the south side of the lake near Fort Worth, this day-use area features boat ramps that provide access to both the main lake body and the Mustang Creek channel, making it an ideal launch point for exploring different paddling environments. The facility includes parking and is situated in scenic rolling hills and prairie meadows, with nearby Mustang-Bear Creek Campground available for overnight stays.
The ramps operate daily from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Access is via Winscott Plover Road or from US 377 (turn south on Stevens Drive and left at the VFW hall). Note that swimming is not permitted near the boat ramps. Beyond paddling, the park offers fishing, picnicking, and wildlife viewing opportunities, making it a well-rounded recreation destination for a day on the water.
