Neachen Bay (West)

**Overview & Access**
Located on the western shore of scenic Coeur d'Alene Lake near Harrison, this small day-use picnic area provides convenient water access for kayakers, canoeists, and boaters. The site features a seven-unit picnic area with an 800-foot paved path leading to a viewing deck overlooking Beauty Bay. This is a non-fee area with no overnight camping allowed, making it ideal for day paddlers exploring the northern reaches of the lake.

The recreation site offers basic amenities including picnic facilities and scenic trail access (a half-mile trail and additional unpaved loop provide views of the lake and surrounding forest). For paddlers seeking overnight accommodations, Beauty Creek Campground is located within 10 miles and offers reservable campsites. The lake itself, renowned as one of the world's most beautiful, provides excellent paddling conditions with numerous public boat launches available throughout the area.

**Getting There**
From Coeur d'Alene, take I-90 east and exit onto Highway 97 (Wolf Lodge Exit). Follow Highway 97 south for approximately 4 miles; Beauty Bay parking area is on the north side of the road. For more information, contact the managing agency at 208-769-5000.
