About This Access Site
Nelson Lakeside Park offers a convenient concrete boat launch in downtown Long Lake, accessible via Highway 12 to Brown Road. This public access point is suitable for boats up to 12-18 feet and accommodates both motorized and non-motorized watercraft, making it an excellent choice for kayakers, canoeists, and recreational boaters. There are no launch fees at this site.

Beyond the launch, the park provides several amenities including a fishing pier, swimming beach, picnic shelter (reservable), grills, and picnic tables—making it a good spot for a full day on the water. Note that canoe storage racks are available but require contacting the City Clerk to check availability, and Long Lake residency is required to use them. The park's downtown location puts paddlers close to local services and makes it an accessible starting point for exploring Long Lake.
