About This Access Site
Neshonoc Swarthout Park offers public boat access to 606-acre Neshonoc Lake in West Salem, located a half-mile north of the village on Highway 16. The park features a dedicated boat ramp along with a public beach and picnic facilities, making it a convenient launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters. With a maximum depth of 11 feet, Neshonoc Lake is suitable for recreational paddling and offers a calm, scenic paddling environment.

The lake supports a healthy fishery with panfish, largemouth bass, northern pike, and catfish, attracting anglers alongside paddlers. The park's beach and day-use amenities make it an accessible entry point for both launching paddling trips and enjoying water recreation. For paddlers interested in exploring the broader region, the scenic Upper Mississippi River Valley and Mississippi River Pool 7 are located nearby between Trempealeau and Dresbach.
