About This Access Site
New Albion Lake is a small, accessible 45-acre lake located in the Town of New Albion, Cattaraugus County, with a maximum depth of 16 feet and mean depth of 6 feet. This site features a DEC hand launch suitable for cartop boats and kayaks, making it an ideal starting point for paddlers launching smaller watercraft. The lake's 1.1-mile shoreline provides a pleasant paddling environment for recreational users.

The access site is wheelchair-accessible to the top of the boat ramp, with parking and amenities available. Unlimited fishing access is permitted around the entire shoreline, so you may encounter anglers while paddling. The shallow mean depth and modest size make this lake well-suited for casual kayaking and canoeing, particularly for paddlers seeking a calm, manageable water body. Be prepared for a hand launch if you're paddling a cartop boat or kayak.
