Located in McCormick County on the Little River arm of Lake J. Strom Thurmond (Clark Hill Reservoir), the New Bordeaux boat ramp provides convenient access to excellent fishing opportunities in the lake's productive backwaters. The ramp is well-maintained and operated year-round by the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, making it a reliable launching point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. With 71,100 acres of surface water and an average depth of 37 feet, this is a substantial impoundment suitable for various paddling and boating activities.

The surrounding area offers pleasant recreational opportunities, with an elevated picnic area nearby featuring tables and a fire ring for visitors to enjoy. For those planning an extended trip, Morrow Bridge and Midway Seasonal Camps are available within 10 miles of the access site. Lake J.
