Newport Mills is a public access point on the Wapsipinicon River in Jones County, located near Anamosa. This site serves as a convenient take-out location for paddlers completing multi-mile trips downstream, particularly from Wapsipinicon State Park (the dam area) or Landis Bridge. The access is situated on Newport Road; from Olin, take County Road E45 west, turn right on 160th Avenue, then left on Newport Road and watch for river access signage on your right.
