About This Access Site
North Lake State Wildlife Area offers a peaceful boat ramp access point for kayakers, canoeists, and small non-motorized watercraft on the scenic North Lake. Surrounded by rolling hills and mountains, this area provides a serene setting for on-the-water recreation.

The boat ramp is located on the north shore of the lake, near the restroom facilities. Gas-powered boats are prohibited, so the lake is ideal for quiet, wakeless activities like canoeing, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding. A valid hunting or fishing license, or SWA pass, is required for visitors age 16 and older.

Nearby campgrounds at Purgatoire, Blue Lake, and Bear Lake provide convenient options for overnight stays. Anglers will find the lake well-stocked with fish, while hikers can explore the surrounding trails and natural areas. Visitors should check current regulations before planning their trip to North Lake State Wildlife Area.
