This small pull-out access point on the circular drive at the end of North Michelson Road provides kayakers, canoeists, and boaters with entry to Dead Stream Flooding, an impoundment created by the Reedsburg Dam near Houghton Lake in Roscommon County. The site offers a scenic location with the added benefit of viewing an active Bald Eagle nest visible on the opposite shore—making it an excellent choice for paddlers interested in wildlife observation.
The Dead Stream Flooding supports a healthy fishery with populations of bluegill, pumpkinseed, largemouth and smallmouth bass, northern pike, yellow perch, and bowfin, alongside abundant shore fishing opportunities. This is a quieter alternative to the two other public boating access points in the area. The access is suitable for kayaks, canoes, and small boats, though paddlers should note the limited facilities at this pull-out location. Given its scenic character and wildlife viewing opportunities, this access point is ideal for leisurely paddling and exploration of the impoundment.
