About This Access Site
North Park offers access to C.J. Strike Reservoir at the northwest corner of this Snake River impoundment, located approximately 23 miles south of Mountain Home via Strike Dam Cut-off Road. The facility features a packed gravel ramp leading to a concrete slab that extends into the water, making it suitable for launching kayaks, canoes, and motorboats onto the reservoir. The 18-acre park area includes picnic shelters and basic amenities, making it a convenient staging point for paddlers exploring the reservoir.

Water conditions at C.J. Strike Reservoir can fluctuate due to Idaho Power's hydroelectric operations, so paddlers should be aware that water levels and flow patterns may change seasonally. The reservoir offers a large, relatively calm paddling environment compared to the free-flowing Snake River downstream. If you're interested in paddling the river below the dam, an alternative launch site is available just east of Strike Dam Cut-off Road for downstream access. Check current conditions and water levels before heading out, as reservoir operations can affect safety and access.
