North Platte River (Bixby)

The Bixby access site on the North Platte River offers a convenient put-in/take-out location for paddlers and boaters exploring this substantial Wyoming river. Managed by the Wyoming Game and Fish Commission, the site features a parking area and modern comfort station located on a hill approximately 200 yards above the river. The access point is situated about 13 miles east of Glenrock or 24 miles northwest of Douglas via Tank Farm Road.

As one of several public access points along the North Platte, Bixby is popular for floating and fishing trips on this large, diverse river. Paddlers should be prepared for the walk from the parking area down to the water, as the facilities sit elevated above the river level.
