Located at Pierson Ranch Camp near Yankton, Nebraska, North Ramp provides access to the Missouri River, one of North America's largest waterways. This ramp is part of the Lewis and Clark Lake recreation area and sits along the Missouri National Recreational River, a 100-mile scenic stretch representing some of the river's most natural character. The Missouri at this location is a major river system with significant flow (averaging over 121,000 cubic feet per second) and considerable current, making it suitable for experienced paddlers and motorboats rather than beginners.
Paddlers should be prepared for challenging conditions: the ramp approach is rough and muddy, with a bank landing accessed behind dike structures and a very small parking lot. Canoeists and kayakers will find access conditions more difficult than at developed public boat ramps. Day use only is permitted at the ramp site. Check current conditions before launching, as flood or heavy rain events can affect ramp usability despite official status. Fort Osage County Park is located uphill with restroom facilities available.
