North River Road

North River Road provides a public boat ramp on the Oconto River in Oconto, featuring a concrete slab with a gradual slope ideal for launching kayaks, canoes, and small motorboats. This is a convenient take-out point for paddlers completing sections of the Oconto River or continuing downstream toward Green Bay. The ramp is located approximately 1.1 miles downstream from Highway J and 4.4 miles upstream from McDonald Street Landing.

**For Paddlers:** The Oconto River section between Van Laenen Road and North River Road spans roughly 5.2 miles and includes one set of Class 1 rapids. Note that paddlers may encounter a flowage and dam portage upstream. While this landing serves as an excellent take-out, the put-in conditions are reported as variable. Those continuing downstream will paddle through an urban section of downtown Oconto before reaching Lake Michigan.

**Amenities & Fees:** A credit/debit card pay station is installed at this access point. Daily launch fees are $7, with an annual user fee option of $50. Paddlers should confirm current conditions and any seasonal restrictions through the Wisconsin DNR before visiting.
