About This Access Site
The North Turtle Lake public boat ramp, located on the northeastern shore in Presque Isle, offers an asphalt launch with a 7% slope and dirt lot parking. The ramp provides good water depth (greater than 3 feet), making it suitable for kayaks, canoes, and motorboats. A nearby campground option is available at Henry Lake Camp on a first-come, first-served basis.

North Turtle Lake is a 359-acre Class A lake with a maximum depth of 58 feet and moderately clear water. The lake supports a diverse fishery including musky, walleye, northern pike, bass, and panfish. Note that the area is subject to slow-no-wake regulations. The lake connects to South Turtle Lake via a water passage below a small bridge, and a dam on South Turtle Lake regulates water levels for the chain, which marks the headwaters of the Turtle River.
