About This Access Site
North Twin Lake Campground provides convenient access to North Twin Lake, a scenic natural lake in the Deschutes National Forest about 40 miles south of Bend. The campground features a boat ramp specifically designed for non-motorized watercraft (kayaks, canoes, and rowboats), making it ideal for paddlers seeking a quieter paddling experience. The lake prohibits motorized boats, ensuring a peaceful water environment for small watercraft and fishing enthusiasts.

The campground offers 20 campsites with basic amenities including vault toilets, picnic tables, and fire rings, though drinking water is not available. A small beach at the shallow end of the lake is suitable for wading and swimming. Additional boat ramps are available on the south shore of the lake near Twin Lakes Marina and near the outlet structure if you need alternatives. Reservations are available through Recreation.gov by calling 541-383-5300.

To reach the campground from Bend, travel 26.8 miles south on Highway 97 to Wickiup Junction, then proceed west approximately 15.8 miles on County Roads 43 and 42, turning south on County Road 4260 for the final 0.2 miles.
