The ramp is particularly useful during normal to high water levels, though access may be limited during extended low-water periods when water levels drop significantly.

When planning your visit, be aware that Cedar Creek Reservoir features dense submerged vegetation, particularly in the coves at the lower end of the lake, and emergent vegetation in the shallow upper waters. Boaters should exercise caution in these areas. If the primary ramps become unusable due to low water, alternative launching is sometimes possible from the dam area. For camping and additional amenities, several marinas around the reservoir offer RV hookups and overnight facilities, though some private ramps may be difficult to use during drought conditions.
