About This Access Site
Oak Ridge Marina offers boat ramp access to Melton Hill Lake on the Clinch River in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. The facility features two ramps—one below and one above Melton Hill Dam—providing access to both Melton Hill Reservoir and Watts Bar Reservoir downstream. This location is ideal for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters looking to explore the wider, calmer waters of the reservoir system.

The Clinch River is a major waterway (Stream Order 8) with significant flow averaging 6,831 cubic feet per second. Melton Hill Lake itself offers relatively stable water conditions compared to the river's natural state, making it suitable for paddlers of various skill levels.
