About This Access Site
The Oakville boat ramp provides year-round access to the Black River, a major waterway in southwestern Washington. Located southeast of Oakville on Highway 12 (approximately 2.6 miles from town), the ramp is situated just after crossing the Black River bridge—look for the public fishing sign to turn right into the access area. From I-5 exit 88, head west toward Oakville on US-12, then turn right at Peterson Corner and left onto School Land Road SW to reach the site.

The Black River at this location is a substantial waterway—a major river system (Stream Order 9) with an average flow of 10,540 cubic feet per second and moderate gradient of 1.5 feet per mile. Paddlers can expect moderate current with an average velocity of 2.83 feet per second, making this suitable for intermediate to experienced boaters. The site includes a single parking lot. When arriving, follow the one-way traffic signs that route you around the north side of the former marina building and down to the launch area on the south side.
