About This Access Site
Located in Marion County within the Ocala National Forest, this seasonal day-use access point provides boat ramp and fishing pier facilities for Lake Eaton, a large shallow lake surrounded by cypress trees and scrub forest. The ramp is situated at the end of the campground entrance road and does not require a camping reservation to use—day-use access is available year-round. The area is managed as part of the Lake Eaton Campground, which has 14 campsites available for those interested in an overnight stay (14-day limit per 30 days).

To reach the ramp, turn left onto Forest Road 44 (an unimproved, rutted road), then make a sharp left at the Lake Eaton Campground sign. Continue straight through the recreation area gates at the intersection of NE 171 Ave Rd and NE 61st Street Rd. Lake Eaton's shallow profile and cypress-lined shores make it popular for bass fishing and recreational boating. This location is part of a cluster of four campgrounds within 10 miles, offering flexibility for paddlers planning a longer forest visit.
