Old Bridge Street provides excellent boat ramp access to the Nemasket River in Lakeville, making it a convenient put-in and take-out for kayakers, canoeists, and small trailered boats. The ramp is located just below the Bridge Street bridge and serves as a popular launching point for paddlers exploring this scenic river system.
**Paddling Options:** Upstream paddlers should cross Wareham Street to access the herring run/fish ladder area for a slower-moving 3.2-mile paddle to Assawompsett Pond. Downstream, expect the river to remain slow-moving for about another mile below the ramp. **Important:** Be aware that approximately 3/4 mile downstream from this point, the river features quick water and a Class I whitewater drop—use extreme caution or portage if you're not experienced with moving water.
**Facility Notes:** While the ramp accommodates both paddlers and trailered boats, please keep the ramp clear for boat trailers when possible. The site provides direct water access to a scenic stretch of the Nemasket River, with nearby recreation opportunities including Massasoit National Wildlife Refuge.
