Old Chehaw Landing

**Location & Access**
Old Chehaw Landing is a public boat ramp located on the Chehaw River near Green Pond in Colleton County, South Carolina. The ramp is accessed via Wiggins Road—from the intersection of Wiggins Road and Highway 17 in Green Pond, travel approximately 6.75 miles; the entrance will be on the left. This is a county-managed facility offering basic boat launch infrastructure.

The Chehaw River is part of the ACE Basin (Ashepoo, Combahee, and Edisto rivers), one of the largest undeveloped estuaries on the East Coast. Paddlers can expect tidal influences and brackish water conditions typical of lowcountry rivers. The area is excellent for kayaking and canoeing, with access to extensive wetlands and diverse wildlife habitat. The nearby Ernest F. Hollings ACE Basin National Wildlife Refuge and ACE Basin National Estuarine Research Reserve offer outstanding opportunities for wildlife viewing and exploration of protected marshlands and river corridors.
