About This Access Site
Old Clifton Ferry is a boat access point on Kentucky Lake, the Tennessee River impoundment in Decatur County, Tennessee. Kentucky Lake is a major recreational body of water created by damming the Tennessee River, offering relatively calm conditions compared to the flowing river upstream. The site provides access to one of the largest reservoirs in the eastern United States, which supports a variety of boating activities including fishing, recreational cruising, and water sports. The Tennessee River system drains a massive 40,000+ square mile watershed and carries significant water volume, making this a well-established waterway for both commercial and recreational use.
