About This Access Site
The Olga Community Float is a small public dock facility located at the southeast end of Orcas Island where Eastsound begins. Maintained by the local community, the float accommodates approximately 3-4 boats on each side and provides a convenient launching point for kayakers, canoeists, and boaters exploring the San Juan Islands. A county boat ramp and parking lot are located adjacent to the float. Note that all nearby buoys are private property and not available for public use.

**Amenities & Practical Information:** This is a bare-bones access site—there are no water, restroom, or beach facilities on-site. A café and gallery are available about a three-block walk uphill through town. Paddlers should be aware that there is no usable beach access; the only trail to water is steep, slippery, and overgrown with thorny brush. The site features a flagpole and memorial bench at the top of the ramp. For those seeking more robust services, Rosario Resort's full-service marina is located halfway up the eastern side of the island.

**Location & Access:** From Eastsound, drive south through Moran State Park. At the Artworks building in Olga, turn left onto Point Lawrence Road, then veer right onto Obstruction Pass Road. The ramp and parking lot are at the road's end. This location provides excellent access to East Sound and proximity to San Juan Islands National Wildlife Refuge and San Juan Island National Historical Park.
