About This Access Site
Onekama Village Park offers a well-maintained public access point to Portage Lake in Manistee County. The facility features a dedicated boat-launching ramp along with ample parking for 40 vehicles with trailers, plus an additional 32 parking spaces. This makes it a convenient base for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters exploring the lake. The park is universally accessible and includes a barrier-free Mobi mat ramp to the beach, along with ADA-accessible restrooms and a bathhouse with indoor facilities.

Beyond water access, the park provides amenities that make it ideal for day trips or longer outings, including picnic tables, grills, a picnic shelter, and a swimming beach. The historic park, originally developed in 1939, remains an active community recreation hub. If you're planning an overnight trip, Marzinski Horse Campground is available within 10 miles of the area. The Onekama location also serves as a gateway to nearby activities like charter fishing and regional outdoor recreation.
