Opossum Lake BL #2 provides boat ramp access to this 47-acre recreational lake located on a 274-acre commonwealth-owned recreation area in Carlisle, Cumberland County. The access site features one of three available launch ramps at Opossum Lake with associated parking facilities. The ramp is approximately 18 feet wide, suitable for kayaks, canoes, and small motorized vessels. Note that all unpowered boats must be registered or display a current launch permit, and innertubes and swim aids are not permitted on the water.
The lake is ideal for recreational paddling, fishing, and wildlife viewing. Opossum Lake is formed by a dam on Opossum Creek, a tributary of the Conodoguinet Creek, creating a calm, scenic paddling environment.
